Do startups need accelerator programes and when?

Status

Limited Capacity

Description

A lot of early-stage companies think that the accelerator program is a wizard who will make their company/startup grow like a magic bean. But the reality is quite different and the most important factor for the success of the startup is the team itself. In our panel discussion we will try to find an answer for a few main questions asked by startups like: Why startup needs accelerator program? | When startup is ready for the accelerator program? | What is the things you most definately will take from accelerator with you? In the accelerator, our focus is to make sure that the team itself gets the right mentors for education and the right contacts to make the deals. Accelerator isn't something magical, it is the place where you work your ass off and absorb every single drop of knowledge which is provided to you. And in the end, before you apply for an accelerator program you need to know that the company and especially founders are ready to be in accelerator and make most out of it.

Description

Usually when you talk about company culture with corporates they say - "oh, old news", but startups - they often ask - "why bother? I'll think about when I have 50+ employees". However, mentoring 40+ startups a year at the accelerator program we see that actually misalignment on values is one of the top failures in early stage startups.
In this session we want to challenge you on why and when you should bother, and share some super practical tips from Latvia's top (and probably culturally most driven) startups: Printify, Nordigen and Crassula. As well as share our own story at Startup Wise Guys, how we re-defined our culture and what challenges it brought along. It will be a laid-back chat with the awesome founders Artis Kehris, Roberts Bernans and Daria Dubinina, and rumour has it we'll have some beers too.
Event is hosted by Swedbank DoBe.
Startup Wise Guys is a mentorship-driven accelerator program for early stage B2B SaaS, Fintech, Cybersecurity & Defense AI startups, providing seed capital (โ‚ฌ30K), office space and most importantly โ€“ world-class mentors. The intensive 3 month accelerator program is focused on validating, developing and selling products to business customers. Over 250 international and local mentors with B2B startup experience help startups move through those stages much faster than they would on their own. Founders are also prepared to sell their vision to investors, and the program culminates in a Demo Day, where startups get to present to venture capitalists and angel investors. Post program, startups join the alumni community of 145+ startups in more than 40 countries and become eligible for invite-only alumni events focused on business development, fundraising and experience sharing.
